MTV Environmental has direct experience providing project management services for rehabilitation and topsoil works, having delivered these services with Blackwater Mine whilst an employee of BHP.
We successfully coordinated topsoil stripping, reshaping and rehabilitation works at the mine. This included liaising with mine planning personnel and sub-contractors, and coordinating budgeting and scheduling for the project. The program of works was delivered within budget, safely and met the mine’s targets for Rehabilitated Land: Disturbed Land ratio.
We also coordinated and supervised the aerial seeding of approximately 1,000 hectares of rehabilitated mined land and oversaw the ongoing monitoring and repair of existing rehabilitated areas. This aerial seeding program far exceeded any other revegetation programs in the region.
